Rabuka support

SOCIAL Democratic Liberal Party's (SODELPA) Naitasiri North Constituency members have expressed their support for party leader Sitiveni Rabuka.

Naitasiri North Constituency Council chairperson Ratu Viliame Ravuilagi said their councils and branch presidents expressed their full confidence in the former prime minister's leadership since his appointment as the party leader.

Ratu Viliame said Naitasiri had been buoyed by Mr Rabuka's masterful leadership of SODELPA and his preparations for the 2018 General Election.

"The members of the Naitasiri Constituency Council also confirmed their support for the transparent processes of the selection of candidates initiated by Rabuka and endorsed by the management board of the party. Naitasiri is fully behind Rabuka," Ratu Viliame said.

He claimed that Fiji needed a change in government policies to be more people-friendly and the NCC had every hope and confidence in the policies that Mr Rabuka announced.

"Like the removal of VAT from basic food items, the $4 minimum wage and removal of short-term contracts from the civil service," he said.

"We know Rabuka can deliver this change that Fiji needs.

"We have expressed full confidence and hope in the selection committee which includes the former prime minister Laisenia Qarase and we know our trust in Rabuka is being proven as SODELPA prepares for the 2018 General Election."
