HUNDREDS of people took photos and selfies with their loved ones as Damodar City in Suva lit up its Christmas tree last night.

Damodar City property manager Rahul Solanki said it took days for the staff members at Damodar City to put together "such a beautiful" Christmas tree.

"It was a team effort from all the staff members here," he said.

"We are happy being able to create something that brings about the Christmas spirit among everyone, especially for our customers.

"This is actually the biggest Christmas tree we could find, and it's something that families or people around Suva can actually come to and enjoy what we have put up with their loved ones."

Mr Solanki said Damodar had been open for some years now and it was about time the city initiated something this Christmas for everyone.

"This is for everyone, we are all one big Damodar City family," Mr Solanki said.

"We are not stopping anyone who wishes to come over for some photoshoots or selfies. Please feel free to do so."
