NAVOSA native Vatiseva Moses was all smiles as she got the opportunity to serve her countrymen and women during the 2017 Pacific Mini Games being held at Port Vila in Vanuatu.

Moses, 45, got married in the Solomon Islands in 1989 and has since moved to Vanuatu which she now calls her home. Her husband is from Vanuatu.

"I am working as a teacher librarian at the Central School and it was a proud moment to see our fellow Fijians coming to Vanuatu to compete in the Pacific Mini Games," the Draubuta native from Navosa said.

"I feel so comfortable to mingle and socialise with them as it is a very rare opportunity to serve your own people in another country and I consider myself very lucky. I think I am the happiest person in Port Vila, Vanuatu. I am working here as a volunteer in the Pacific Mini Games."

She said she regularly visits families and friends in Fiji in the school holidays.

"In 2003 I went back to Fiji to complete my studies at the University of the South Pacific. Port Vila is more like western Fiji," she said.

"It is my home now, but my heart beats for Fiji. Fiji is too advanced and busy while Vanuatu we still striving for everything.

" I miss having Fijian food here in Vanuatu especially lovo food," Vatiseva said.
