Serevi's call

Monday, December 04, 2017

THE King of 7s rugby, Waisale Serevi said the Fiji Airways 7s team would need to maintain its discipline if it wanted to bounce back at the Cape Town 7s in South Africa this week.

Serevi said this was a good team and should be kept by the coach.

He said the team was well prepared and unforced errors cost them dearly.

"We need to work on our discipline, and we cannot afford to give away uneccessary mistakes especially against a team like South Africa," he said.

"This is one of the best prepared teams.

"They had participated in a few invitational tournaments before the series started.

"I think they just need to minimise on mistakes and capitalise on posessions, that's how we win games."

Fiji lost to England in the third and fourth place-play-off 28-21.

In the quarter-final a late surge by the side saw the Jerry Tuwai captained side bundled out of the main semi-finals after going down to eventual winners South Africa 12-7.
