VODAFONE Fiji Bati captain Kevin Naiqama said the team's aim for the Rugby League World Cup was to advance to the grand final and win the cup.

"For us last week was our grand final, it is no different this week. It is like a grand final for us again against the world number one, we have an opportunity to test ourselves against the best in the world," Naiqama said before the team's final training session at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane in Australia yesterday morning.

While the side was overwhelmed with the 4-2 victory over New Zealand last week, Naiqama said players knew the job was only half done.

"The aim of the tournament was to go all the way to the grand final. It was good that we had overcome NZ, a giant of rugby league.

"We got back to the drawing board on Monday ? we can't take yesterday's victory into today's battle.

"We have done our homework on Australia and we have our final session now to prepare for that."

Naiqama said the team wanted to improve on each game and felt they had done that in every game they had played in the RLWC.

"And we will do so again against Australian this weekend.

"They are the best in the world they are there for a reason.

"To be the best you have to beat the best. It's going to be a hard test tomorrow (tonight) but we are up for it. We have felt no pressure in this whole tournament, if anything we have just focused on ourselves, what we can create as a group, working on our defence, we worked on it last week and we definitely will work on it again this weekend."
