SUVA 1 attributed their 2017 Central Division Chow Games win to the Almighty after they won the title at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

The side won 31 gold, 19 silver and 18 bronze medals in the two-day competition while Veiuto Primary School finished second with 29 gold, 29 silver and 19 bronze medals.

Suva One manager Benedito Koroi gave credit to the athletes for putting on a gallant performance in winning the title.

"We thank the parents for their support towards their children and encouraging their children to come out and train with the team," he said.

"We always expect our students to come out and do well and it is not about winning as it is all about participation in the competition.

"The athletes were given equal opportunities and that could be only possible with the students being committed and dedicated and giving their best in the competition."

Koroi said it was important to guide the athletes so they could become good athletes in future.

"The secret behind the win was all about the teamwork and the sacrifice by the students and the coaches," he said

"The athletes had faith in themselves and they believed in themselves that they could do it. We have eight schools in the competition."
