FIJI Airways Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber believes with the introduction of new manger Mark Drown, analyst Chris Davis and trainer Alikesa Kalougata will lift the standard of Fiji 7s performance at the 2017/2018 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai at the end of the month.

The Jerry Tuwai-captained side is pooled with Wales, Russia and Australia for the Dubai 7s.

"The officials are coming with wealth of experience, with Chris working on the analysis, Mark for the managerial work and then putting that all together to ensure we have a tight team.

"There is a new trainer who has come from the US and he has worked with the team before with Naca Cawanibuka and Ben Ryan for the Olympics and he knows what the standard is and he would be able to push that standard. He is under the guidance of Naca as well and it is about developing other people."

Fiji Airways Drua players John Stewart, Eroni Sau, Samu Saqiwa and Apete Daveta have been training with the side this week.

"The Drua players have been playing top level rugby recently and I wanted to bring them in and one or two could be selected for Dubai which will be decided in the weekend," Baber said.

"All the Drua players bring different qualities with them.

"The big issue is going to be the conditioning level as different styles of conditioning is needed in 7s and 15s so we got to be patient with guys to get the opportunity and take that."
