Kia ora from the Land of the Long White Cloud!

Big drop in temperature for us here in New Zealand although the transition from the tropics has been slight from Fiji, to Townsville, Canberra and now to the north of the south isle of Aotearoa.

Windswept and cool, this region is a tough place of breeding tough people, who will be our opponents this weekend.

The game between Mate ma'a Tonga and the Kiwis looked a rough encounter with both sides dishing it up to each other all throughout the contest.

This weekend will be no different. With some of the best players in the world at their disposal, the Kiwis are a team any kid watching would fear yet would jump at the opportunity to play against.

With Jared Warea-Hargreaves, Nelson Asofa Solamona, Marty Taupau, Roger Tuivasa Scheck and Shaun Johnson... a mouth-watering test is ahead of us.

As a kid, you envision one day playing against the best, this weekend will be the perfect test to see how we fare against and in the homeland of one of the "big three".

I say "big three" with quotation marks because I believe the time of theirs at the top is dwindling.

Especially with England. They will lose rank soon. I believe because it seems as though the sleeping giants of the Pacific have begun to arise from their slumber. Players of Pacific heritage now want to represent the countries of their heritage showcasing the real, current strength of the Pacific.

Taumalolo and Fifita defecting this year show that it's no longer about the money, but now for the pride of the nation.

Will we see another small Pacific island topple another rugby league powerhouse this Saturday night??

Vinaka and lolomas.
