Nadi FA creates history

JACK'S Nadi has created history for Fiji soccer with the historical launch of free medical services to players, former players, officials and members of their families.

This was made possible through a partnership between Nadi Football Association and the DSM Medical Centre that was officially launched yesterday.

Nadi soccer president Javed Ahmed said the free medical services included the consultations during normal working hours, X-rays, ultrasound and ECG's (heart checks).

He said the welfare of their players, officials and family members was paramount to the association.

Ahmed said the association sponsored the education of some of the players' wives.

"This is a historic occasion for Nadi soccer," he said.

"Our main priority is the players' welfare and also the welfare of their family members.

"We have been assisting some of the players through education over the past months."

He said most players were forgotten after their playing days, which prompted the association to take this bold step.

"We don't want to use the players and forget them when their time is over," Ahmed said.

"We want the best for them during and after their soccer playing days and we are also doing this for their family members."

Ahmed thanked Dr Ram Raju, the owner of the DSM Services for this great partnership.

"We want the best for our players and we thank Dr Raju for this great initiative," he added.
