AJAX Spurway Fasteners Limited was a first-time winner at this year's Fiji Business Excellence Awards held earlier this month at the Sheraton Resort and Spa in Denarau.

However, despite its new entry to the FBEA, the company is no stranger to the country's construction and engineering industry where it has a stronghold on being the leading distributors of building supplies.

Ajax Spurway Fasteners Ltd general manager Riyad Khan said the company was initially setup as distributors of metallic fasteners.

"Ajax Spurway Fasteners Ltd has been growing steadily and has since diversified from Fasteners to Industrial products," he said.

"Ajax' is a well-accepted and established brand in the market place and has grown in strength, stature and recognition."

"We are mainly into wholesale and retail business and are major supplier to all retail and construction companies throughout Fiji."

Of their win at 19th FBEA, said this was a stepping stone to many more recognitions.

"Yes, this is the first win for the company and we will continue to aim to win major awards in years to come.

"It's a proud moment for the company and the entire team able to achieve the first step of the journey.

"We would like thank the board of directors of R C Manubhai Group of Companies and the entire HR team for their faith in us and providing the facilities for us to achieve the award.

"It was a great achievement for the company to receive this award.

"Our aim after attending FBEA-Awards night is to achieve, The Achievement in Business Excellence Award and continue to progress in years to come."
