All for Fiji

NO matter how tired you are, you will get a fresh burst of energy when you are playing for your country.

Vodafone Fiji Bati player, Brayden Wiliame got into Fiji following a long haul flight from France to play against the Australia Kangaroos within 48 hours.

"My body was very tired, but when you play for your country, you get a fresh pair of legs, a different kind of energy," the man from Boitaci Village on Vanuabalvu, Lau, said.

Wiliame plays for the Catalan Dragons from Perpignan, Pyrénées-Orientales, France.

The club is the only one outside Northern England to play in the Super League, the top rugby league competition in the northern hemisphere.

The 25-year-old former Parramatta Eels and Manly Sea Eagles player had always wanted to represent Fiji ever since the first time he saw the likes of Jarryd Hayne, Wes Naiqama and Ashton Sims at the 2008 RLWC.

"I told my family and myself that one day I would also represent the Fiji Bati," he said.

"It was my dream and I didn't get a chance to play in the 2013 RLWC. So, when this opportunity came, I grabbed it with both hands.

"Playing alongside some of the players who played in the 2008 RLWC is a bonus. It is such a good feeling to be part of the Fiji Bati team to the RLWC.

"But the best part is getting immersed in the Fijian culture, I have lost a bit of that since I have been away."
