Diamonds too good

The Australian Diamonds have proven too good for the Silver Ferns in the Trans-Tasman Netball Constellation Cup competition. Australia convincingly won the third game of the series on Wednesday night, 55-43 despite a strong fighback from the Silver Ferns in the third quarter.

After trailing by 11 points at half time the ferns were able to claw back to within four points by the third quarter break thanks to the induction of Temalisi Fakahokotau and Kayla Cullen in the defensive end and Te Paea Selby-Ricket in attack. However it was Australia who were able to settle and capitalise on turnovers giving them the Constellation Cup with a game in hand.

The final game will be played on Saturday in Australia.
