Update: 2:51PM FOUR Fijian families have lost their homes after more than a dozen wildfires fueled by powerful winds swept through California wine country last night (Fiji time).

Vilisi Nadaku, Fiji born who now resides in California said some have gathered at the evacuation center at the First United Methodist United Church in Montgomery.

"The devastation is just incredible," Mr Nadaku said.

"Some neighborhoods like Coffee Park, not a single house standing," he said.

He said he has never seen or experienced anything like that as it was so heartbreaking.

Meanwhile according to CNN news ten people have died and the number is expected to grow while more than 100 people were being treated at Napa- and Sonoma-area hospitals for fire-related injuries or health issues including burns, smoke inhalation and shortness of breath.
