Health discard fleas outbreak reports

Monday, September 25, 2017

Update: 1:22PM FIJI'S Ministry of Health and Medical Services has cleared the air on reports of an outbreak of fleas at Suva's CWM hospital.

In a statement issued today, acting permanent secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services Dr Josefa Koroivueta said he was concerned over misleading reports in the media on the issue reasoning it could result in the avoidance of proper medical care.

He said there was no outbreak of fleas at the country's largest referral centre.

The ministry has clarified that the maternity services at the CWMH remain undisrupted and all services are operating normally.
