THE Fiji Rugby Union will meet and talk on the issue of the Fiji under-16 team after they flew to Adelaide instead of Brisbane for a rugby competition in Australia.

FRU chief executive officer John O'Connor said he would make comments after meeting Fiji Secondary Schoosls Rugby Union today.

It is understood the players were looked after by the Fijian community in Adelaide before they departed for their right destination.

Fiji was invited to play in Australia where they would be playing in five matches in the National Rugby Championship.

Some of the parents took to the social media networking site Facebook to show their disappointment.

"A bit of disappointment today. Flight was to have left at 8am with our sons on board via Brisbane on Fiji Airways. A little mishap and miscommunication. They went back to camp and slept. The team finally taking a later flight via Adelaide on Virgin Australia departing at 4.30pm," one of the parents wrote.

"Upon arrival they will then travel up to Brisbane by coach at least 18 hours on the road. But what a trip that will be," the status read further.

Fiji U16 team was supposed to play Queensland 2 today.

"Adelaide to Brisbane on the bus is at least 30 hours and I feel for Lai as a parent! Inexcusable is an understatement," another parent wrote.

Another concerned parent wrote "I got exhausted from thinking of them. I hope there's an alternative to that bus ride. They will need a full day of rest."

O'Connor in an email confirmed that the team was booked for Brisbane.
