Reforms dismay

THE National Federation Party says the Minister for Civil Service, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, should take responsibility for issues being faced by the civil service.

NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad made the comments in response to comments by Mr Sayed-Khaiyum that salary reviews were not charity and chiding the permanent secretary for the Ministry of Health for failing to ensure workers diligently perform their duties.

"The voices of the aggrieved teachers and civil servants were swept aside. Now in the latest roadshow, the A-G made a comment that salaries must be commensurate with experience," Prof Prasad said.
