Kasavu returns to NCC after 73 years

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Update: 3:25PM SAF Communication Kasavu is making a return to the National Club Championship (NCC) after 73 years.

'Delta Tigers' veteran Lorima Dau and five other Rewa football players are members of the Kasavu team that will play this weekend at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

The 34-year-old said it was a privilege for the Kasavu team to make it through to the NCC after a lapse of 73 years.

"I am really thankful to the people of Kasavu and SAF communications for having faith in us and helping us prepare for this weekend's games," Dau said.

"SAF Communication is sponsoring us with our training gear, our uniforms and everything that we need during the two-day tournament.

"For the players, we have Samuela Kautoga, Peniame Drova, Gabriel Matanasiga plus the 11 players who are there to do the job.

"We also have Joela Baledrokadroka, who will be our goalkeeper, and not forgetting the young players who are part of the team because they challenged us to work hard this season and enabled us to qualify for the NCC."
