Update: 6:48PM WOWS (Walk On Walk Strong) Kids Fiji has been overwhelmed by the massive support they received from the people of Fiji.

The movement has also acknowledged its partners, sponsors, families, friends, and volunteers during its two inaugural events this year - the WOWS walk and fun run and WOWS wonderland charity ball.

WOWS Kids Fiji CEO Viola Lesi highlighted this as support continued to pour in for the Walk On Walk Strong (WOWS) Kids Fiji foundation.

Today, the BSP Fiji family led by Country Manager Kevin McCarthy, BSP Life managing director Malakai Naiyaga and BSP Finance GM Krishna Raju handed over a cheque of $20,000 from their month-long fundraising event.

Volunteers for the Save It or Shave It campaign, which included Mr McCarthy, also had their head shaved, aimed to raise a set amount of funds for WOWS Kids Fiji.

"We are deeply grateful to the Bank of the South Pacific and Nirdesh Singh and Litia Taga for initiating and coordinating the campaign," Ms Lesi said.

"August 2017 has been a whirlwind of activities for WOWS Kids Fiji and we are thankful for the support from corporate bodies, our sponsors, and partners, our families, and friends for the support rendered since its inception to the present," she said.

"And we are thankful to our media partners Fiji Times, Star Printery and Communications Fiji Limited for their support in actively getting the message of early detection out to the populace.

"We hope that this will translate to more children being presented to the hospitals at the early stages of the illness."

Ms Lesi said the CEO of the Damodar Group, Div Damodar, and a few other individuals will complete their Save it Or Shave it 2017 campaign on September 30.
