Assessors find father guilty of raping daughter

Update: 1:34PM A 49-YEAR-OLD man charged for the alleged rape of his daughter at their home in Kadavu was this morning found guilty of the offence by the three assessors following their deliberations this morning.

The father who is facing three counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault is standing trial  at the High Court in Suva before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe

The alleged incidents took place between March and April 2014 at the accused's home in an isolated settlement in Kadavu.

The complainant was alleged to have went to spend her holidays at her father's house when the alleged incidents happened.

Justice Rajasinghe will deliver his judgment on the case tomorrow.
