Town receives queen and king contestants

LABASA Town came to a standstill yesterday as the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North float procession drew cheers and admiration from members of the public.

The hot sun that seemed to double its glare failed to wither the spirits of contestants who travelled in a single decorated float and members of the public who waited patiently to get a glimpse of the procession.

Contestants occasionally threw out sweets to the crowd as they received cheers and shouts for more.
