TWO Fiji table tennis players will take part in the Thailand Open table tennis competition in October.

This competition serves as the qualifier for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina. Players Grace Yee and Young Jun Park will fly Fiji's flag at the competition.

Fiji Table Tennis Association president Anthony Ho said the duo had been performing well.

"Grace is only 15 years old and she is our current women's singles champion and national under-15 and under-18 champion and she is also a member of the Oceania cadet team for the past two years," he said.

"Young Jun Park, is 16 years old and the number two ranked player in the youth category and will be attending the qualifying event.

"Both have to compete to qualify for the Youth Olympics and based on their knowledge one of them will make it to the Youth Olympic Games and that has been assured by the ITTF. The ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) believes some of our players would make it to the Youth Olympic Games and that is why we have committed to getting our top two players into the competition."

Meanwhile, FTTA will have a number of activities organised during the school holidays.

Some school holiday tennis activities:

* August 19 and Wednesday August 21-23- national training camp involving beginner, national cadet/junior and senior level players.

* August 24-25- rising star series: a beginner competition during the day and national team training in the evenings.

* August 26-27- national team trials.
