Car shows for children

THE Naughty Boys Car Youth Club members visited the children of Dilkusha Home last month to donate the proceeds from their car show held in June.

Vice-president of the club Zubeena Ali said members visited the children after a successful car show.

Mrs Ali said a dinner was organised for the children and members took the time to sit and talk with them.

"We donated some clothes, a brush-cutter and a 415-litre deep freezer (45-inch) for their home. It felt really good to be able to give something to these children especially from the money that was raised from our first car show in the Capital City," she said.

She said the visit was an uplifting experience especially seeing children's faces light up to get their gifts from the members.

Mrs Ali says the interesting part was sitting down to enjoy quality time with the children and it was definitely a moment the members would truly cherish forever — and host more car shows for as it was rewarding.

She said plans were in progress to organise another car event in a few months and to continue to assist children at the home in terms of their education and their living facility.

"We hope our next car project will be bigger and better at the Handicraft Centre in Suva," she said.
