North crowd disappoints

FIJI Football Association (FFA) acting president Tarunesh Reddy said he was disappointed with the crowd turnout and added that support they received from the North was not what they had expected.

At the end of the three rounds of the 2017 Inkk Battle of the Giants tournament (BOG).

Hosts Labasa finished their pool games unbeaten.

They defeated Suva 1-0 on the first day, then 4-0 against Rakiraki finally 1-0 against Nadi. The Babasiga Lions raked up nine points to top their Group A followed by Nadi with four points.

Defending BOG champions Lautoka finished top of their pool with seven points, followed by Rewa with five points.

Both teams were undefeated as well.

The semi-final fixtures will see Labasa facing Rewa and Lautoka against Nadi.

The semi-finals dates would be between July 21 to July 23.

According to FFA acting president Tarunesh Reddy the semi-final venues will be revealed today at their headquarters in Vatuwaqa

Also, only one player was found positive of taking drugs, but FFA has opted to keep his identity and that of his team confidential in order to preserve their reputation.
