NATADOLA Bay professional Sam Lee fired a brilliant seven under par 65 to move up to second position on the leaderboard heading into the final round of the 2017 Higgins Fiji Open Golf Championship at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club course today.

Lee, one of Fiji's top professional golfers, was four shots behind leader Kieran Muir of New Zealand who carded four under par 68 after the third round yesterday.

Tauranga professional Muir who has a world ranking of 1908 moved to 15 under par 201. Lee totaled 11 under par 205 followed by Hayden Beard of New Zealand on 10 under par 206.

Bill Suguturaga of Fiji who was tied with Lee at the half way mark remained in fourth position with 5 under par 211.

PGA Australia Tour tournament event operations co-ordinator Brad Newcombe said breezy conditions greeted the players at the start of yesterday's round which proved difficult to manage for those who teed off early.

The final round commences at 7.30am with the leaders including Muir, Lee, Beard and Suguturaga teeing off at 10.40am.

The winner of the championship and the best local finisher will earn direct entry to the Fiji International which will be played at the Natadola Bay Championship course from August 17-20.
