Ba ready for next match

BA coach Imdad Ali says he was confident his team will come out stronger in their next match against Labasa after going down to Nadi 3-1 on Thursday.

The Men in Black had the services of striker Saula Waqa, midfielder Malakai Tiwa, Avinesh Waran Suwamy and goalkeeper Josaia Ratu.

"The first match is always a difficult one and Nadi was a good team and they utilised their set piece play well especially the corner kicks and it resulted in two goals," he said.

"The weak point was the players stood ball watching when the two goals were scored and we need to work on this before the second match.

Ali said Ba would regroup before facing Labasa tonight.

"It was only a first match since we have two more matches remaining in the group stages.

"We will go back and work on the weaknesses and come out stronger."

Labasa coach Ronil Lal said he was hoping the players would carry the same momentum against Ba.

"Christopher Wasasala has been one of the impressive players against Dreketi together with Anish Khem who will be a key player against Ba," he said.

"We will be out to prove ourselves against Ba. We will try out best to take the title back to Labasa since we have prepared well."

The match kicks off at 7pm at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
