Stock investor awareness initiative

Saturday, May 20, 2017

Greetings from SPSE!

To all our subscribers/readers/followers and investors, as part of our ongoing investor awareness initiative, the SPSE this week publishes a STOCK MARKET NEWS FLASH in line with the key dividend announcements released and share price increases noted in some of the SPSE listed companies.

This week's report is for the information of our stakeholders who are shareholders in these listed companies and also for the prospective investors who are considering investing into Fiji's stock market.

Divident announcements

Toyota Tsusho (South Sea) Ltd (TTS), FijiCare Insurance Ltd (FIL) and Pleass Global Ltd (PBP) were the three listed companies declaring dividends this week.

TTS — declared an increased dividend of $0.40 per share to its shareholders.

According to the TTS market announcement, the higher dividend payout is in line with the improved trading results for the 2016 financial year compared with the previous financial year results (audited results are expected to be released to the market before June end);

FIL — declared a final dividend of $0.04 per share during its annual general meeting (AGM) earlier this week.

Moreover, in line with prior practice, shareholders have the option to either take a cash dividend (default option) or to reinvest their dividend amount into additional FIL shares at a price of $0.68 per share (if you wish to reinvest your dividends, please contact FIL); and PBP — also held their AGM earlier this week and declared a final dividend of $0.02 per share.

The dividend is consistent with the prior year's dividend payment.

Price gainers

Among the price gainers for this week were; Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Ltd (ATH), Paradise Beverages (Fiji) Ltd (PBF), RB Patel Group Ltd (RBG), Toyota Tsusho (South Sea) Ltd (TTS), Fijian Holdings Ltd (FHL) and BSP Convertible Notes Ltd (BCN)
