10-year service strategy

Update: 2:40PM THE Pacific Geospatial and Surveying Council (PGSC) will meet in Suva to endorse a 10-year strategy framework to improve its services across the region.

The two-day workshop will see PGSC members and partners focus mainly on ways to improve geospatial and surveying training and professional development, access to equipment and technology, data management and leadership in the region.

This process will be facilitated by representatives from Geoscience Australia, the United Nations Initiative on Global Geospatial Information Management (UNGGIM), the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), Land Information New Zealand, and SPC's Geoscience Division.

Present PGSC members include Cook Islands, Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

The workshop will be held at the SPC conference room in Nabua.
