LITIA CAVA

Update: 11:01AM CLIMATE change is a threat to the Pacific culture, security and existence says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

During his closing remarks at the pre-summit Pacific Island Development Forum (PIDF) Leaders Summit in Honiara last night, he said the threat creates a stark reality for individuals and communities.

"From the implementation of the Paris Agreement to the building up of our ocean's resilience, we've gone far beyond a surface-level understanding of these issues.

"We've examined, in-depth, the practicality and feasibility of a number of solutions."

Speaking as PIDF Chairperson, Bainimarama said that the solutions discussed would help to change the lives of every man, woman and child who calls the Pacific home.

The PIDF Leaders Summit begins today.
