Update: 6:00PM FIJI will continue to work in partnership with the Republic of Kiribati in addressing the challenges posed by the imminent impacts of climate change, says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

While congratulating the newly-elected President of the Republic of Kiribati, Taneti Maamautum, Mr Bainimarama said Fiji stood in solidarity for the sake of its current and future generations.

"I also wish to take this opportunity to thank the Republic of Kiribati for joining hands with Fiji as we made our case for the Pacific Small Islands Developing States at last year's UN Climate Change Conference held in Paris."
