Winston causes estimated $1billion damage

Update: 5:24PM THE estimated cost of damage sustained around the country by Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston is about $1billion.

This was revealed by the Attorney-General and Minister for Finance, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at a press conference this afternoon.

According to Mr Sayed-Khaiyum, this was not an official  figure, however the estimation was derived from the looks on damages around the country.
