Nadro changes eight

Maciu Malo
Friday, September 05, 2014

BLK Nadroga has made eight changes to their run-on side in the HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan trophy title defence game against Northland at Lawaqa Park tomorrow.

Livewire open side flanker Sailosi Rabonaqica was a notable omission from the side after an outstanding game against Naitasiri last week.

Head coach Esala Nauga has opted for enterprising Leveni Kurimudu to cover for Rabonaqica while national 7s training squad member Apisai Domolailai to start from the bench.

In other changes, bulky prop Ratu Penijamini Makutu relegated Nemani Camainakelo to the bench while lanky Epeli Natuikata also forced his way in the starting 15.

Nippy halfback Samu Laqai will take over from former national 7s skipper Emosi Vucago to form the halves combination with flyhalf Ratu Meli Kurisaru.

Nauga has also opted for a new centres combination in Eroni Vasiteri and Ratunaisa Narukutabua ahead of Savenaca Rawaca and Iliesa Ratuva.

Ratuva has been shifted on the flanks to partner speed merchant Save Cava who will man the number 11 position.

Field general Mitieli Nacagilevu wins back his number 15 shirt after a quiet game against Naitasiri in the number 11 jumper.

The Nakalavo flyer is expected to play a huge part for the Stallions in their quest to retain the coveted trophy in Nadroga.

Hard working number 8 Eremasi Radrodro has again won his spot in the line-up despite missing the Stallions training on his involvement in the national 7s team training.

The Lomaiviti native said he would lift his game against Northland.

"I made some mistakes against Naitasiri and I will definitely improve my game in our next challenge," said Radrodro.

"I am ready for the challenge and I thank the Almighty God for his guidance."

The game kicks off at 3pm.
