Gounder to defend golf titile

PERMAL Chandra Gounder will defend the Fiji Senior Golfers Association 33rd annual championship which starts at the Fiji Golf Club course on Monday.

Commonly known as "PC" in the golfing circles, Gounder had recently returned from Australia and is fired up for the 54 holes event.

David Oakley, Tiphait Hussein, Bhaskaran Nair, Marika Vada, Vijay Goundan and Ilaisa Labaibure all of the host club will provide stiff challenge to Gounder.

Ram Khelawan, the 2014 DHL Global Forwarding Seniors Day champion from Nadi will be a threat along with Rajendra Gaundan from New Zealand.

Association president Vijay Madhavan said ATH Group of Companies would support their annual event.

Madhavan said 18 rounds of competition would be played next Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

He said the senior ladies would also participate.
