Update: 6:34PM United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon has called on the release of Fijian peacekeepers.

At a press conference in Apia, Samoa today, he reassured the Fijian public that no expense would be spared in attempting to locate and aid Fijian peacekeepers currently held captive by a militant group in the Golan Heights.

"I again demand the immediate and unconditional release of these brave blue helmets who were deployed to the region to bring stability for the sake of the people. We are working around the clock for their release," he said.
