3500 global delegates at SIDS meet

Update: 11:53PM THOUSANDS gathered at the UN SIDS Conference venue this evening to be part of the conference's cultural opening.

As delegates from over 100 countries came together to listen to the opening remarks of Samoa's Prime Minister and of the Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-Moon, Samoa's youth performed to traditional songs and kept guests entertained.

The official opening of the Conference will begin tomorrow morning. 

A total of 3500 delegates from around the world are expected to frequent the venue throughout this week.
