LAUTOKA goalkeeper Senirusi Bokini was the hero for his side after stopping two penalty kicks to put the Sugar City side through to the INNK Mobile Battle of the Giants final today.

Bokini, who played an excellent game guarding the Lautoka goalmouth, pulled off some brilliant saves in the second semi-final which was decided in the dreaded penalty shootout.

In the first spell of the extra time, Bokini blocked Avinesh Suwamy's spot kick to keep Lautoka's chances alive in the match which ended in 1-all.

Suwamy, who is known for his stupendous strike, blasted to the right of Bokini which was well judged by the latter.

The Lambert Sarju-coached Lautoka was the first to score in the match after a defensive blunder allowed Josefata Dugucagi to sneak in for opener in the 10th minute.

Ba equalised through Suwamy in the 41st minute to tie the game at 1-all at the break.

Both teams tried hard to seal the match in the second half but goalkeepers Bokini and Epeli Codro stood tall in defence to put the game into extra time.

Ba's best chance was the penalty in the first half of the extra time but Bokini's heroic save denied them the goal.

Captain Alvin Avinesh, Dugucagi, Jone Vono Jr and Isikeli Jeke scored for Lautoka in the penalty kicks while Ba managed to score through Suwamy, Shamil Rao and Laisenia Raura.

Skipper Jone Vesikula and Meli Codro missed for Ba while Lautoka's Kavaia Rawaqa hit the crossbar.
