$7k for classrooms

ONE hundred and forty two students at the Nakorotari Arya Primary and Preschool will benefit from funding of more than $7000 given by the Ministry of Education.

Divisional Educational officer North Satya Nand Shandil said through the funding the school was able to build temporary classrooms for Year 6 and Year 2 students whose classrooms were razed.

Mr Shandil said the new classrooms were built to OHS standards and students had begun learning in the temporary corrugated iron building.

"We have also been able to buy much wanted textbooks that were burnt down with the building," he said.

Headteacher Jagendra Prasad said he was thankful to the ministry for its insight.

"We expect the permanent classroom to be completed next year."
