FLP denies claims of dissension

Avinesh Gopal
Friday, August 29, 2014

THE Fiji Labour Party says it is going into the 2014 general election as a united and cohesive front.

FLP president Lavinia Padarath stated this in response to media reports on the party's leadership. Mrs Padarath described the media report as "malicious and mischievous rubbish".

She said the party's position on the issue of leadership was very clear and it had been publicly stated a number of times.

"Leadership in the FLP has to be earned. It is not handed out willy nilly to anyone."
