GOLF

Charity Golf

THE Fiji Ship Owners and Agents Association Charity Golf tournament in aid of Colonial War Memorial Hospital's Fiji Childrens' Overseas Treatment Trust Fund would be held on Friday, September 19 at the Fiji Golf Club. Registration for the stableford event is $20 per person.

Fiji Golf Junior Programme

THE Fiji Golf Club Junior Program will host a two day tournament sponsored by the Waidamudamu Group at Vatuwaqa on August 28 and 29. Entry fee is $10 and includes lunch and refreshment. Contact Veramu at the Fiji Golf Club for more information.

NETBALL

Nadroga Men's and Mixed

INVITATION to clubs to join the official opening on August 30 at Lawaqa Park at 10am. Registration is $100 that includes Open and Mixed Team. Selection for the National Championship will be held on the same day. Teams from Nadroga/Navosa are welcome to join NMMNA 2014 Season. Veivatuloa

THE Fiji Bitter Veivatuloa Parish Netball tournament will be held at Thomson Park on September 26-27. Registration of $70, for the first 12 teams. Contact Eneriko Cakaunivalu on 9189986 for more information.

CMF Labasa 7s

THE CMF Labasa Rugby 7s tournament will be held from October 16 to 18. Only 40 teams will be accommodated. Entry fee is $200 per team. Prizes: Winner: $5000. Runner-up: $2000. Semi-finalists: $600. Plate Winner: $600. Runner-up: $400. Bowl Winner: $400. Runner-up: $200. Best Player: $100. Furthest travelling team: $100. Closing Date: 30th September, 2014. Masada 7s

THE Masada Rugby 7s will be held at the Wairiki village ground in Bua on October 10 and 11.

Rugby - Men's Adult Team: Registration Fee: $250; Cup Winner - $3000; Runner Up - $1000; Loosing Cup Semi Finalist - $500 each; Plate Winner - $400; Runner Up - $250; Loosing Semi Finalist - $150 each; Bowl Winner - $200; Runner Up - $150; Losing Semi Finalist - $100 each; Under 19 Grade: Registration Fees - $100; Winner - $500; Runner Up -$200; Losing Semi Finalist - $100 each. Also note that a netball tournament would be held at the Wairiki Village Ground, Bua on the same dates. Registration fee is $80; winner gets $400; runner up gets $200; losing semi-finalist gets $100 each. A volleyball tournament would also be held on the same dates at the same venue. New Vision 7s

THE New Vision 7s would be held on September 6 at Thomson Park in Navua. First 24 teams to pay entry fees by September 4 would be accommodated. Winner gets $1000, runner up gets $500 and there is a consolation prize for plate winner. Contact Wame on 9000279 or 9369559.

Northland

THE Northland Rugby Union Naikoka Trophy Challenge between Lomavata versus Senibiau will be held this Saturday at Nukuvuto ground at 10.40am.

Ovalau 7s

THE Ovalau Rugby Union is organising a sevens tournament on September 19 and 20 at Levuka. Registration fee is $250. Total prizemoney is $8000. First prize is $3000. Teams from outside Ovalau are invited to participate. The first 24 teams to pay their registration fees will be included. SNOOKER

Southern Division Veterans Open

THE Southern Division Billiards and Snooker Association will host the Sam Super Pool-sponsored Veterans Snooker Open Tournament on August 30 and 31 at the Merchant Club in Suva. Players aged over 50 years can enter this tournament. A-grade National Ranking players not allowed to take part in this event. No entry fee and decent dress code is required. Winner gets $100 and trophy, runner-up gets $50 and trophy and semi-finalists also get a trophy with $25. Quarter-finalists get a trophy too and the player with the highest break will also get a trophy. Lunch is provided on both days. TABLE TENNIS

THE Fiji Table Tennis Association will be hosting a series of events for the rest of this month:

Open day

THE Open Day is an excellent chance to come on down and try your hand at table tennis if you are new or returning to the sport. Demonstrations, I-Pong robot, fun games, training on offer. 9am-4pm: $2 per person for the whole day on August 28.

Rising Star Series

THE Rising Star Series is an entry level tournament for school-aged participants new to the sport to gain a taste of a tournament without the pressure of competing against elite players. Fiji Schools Team Championships primary and secondary division, each school can field two teams per event, separate event for boys and girls, the tournament is run on the World Junior Circuit Format from August 29-31 consisting of four singles and a doubles match. $5 entry fee for Rising Star School Classic. $20 entry fee per team in Fiji schools team championships.
