Update: 4:15PM THE body of the late Vilikesa Soko, a robbery suspect who died in police custody on Wednesday, has departed the Lautoka Hospital mortuary for Suva.

His father Jeremaia Soko led relatives in a hearse after 2pm and said his son, aged 33, would be laid to rest at the Nasinu Cemetery after a church service at the familys home in Kalabu tomorrow morning.

The deceased was arrested in connection to a $50,000 daylight robbery in Nadi Town two weeks ago.

His family alleges he was assaulted by police officers and the Fiji Police Force has launched a criminal investigation, following his death.
