Update: 12:56PM THE head of the European Union, Andrew Jacobs, has commended the inclusion of three long-term European experts to take part in the Multi-national Observer Group (MOG).

EU ambassador Andrew Jacobs said the experts have very substantial experience of elections, including in Fiji, and they would make a positive contribution to the exercise.

"It is of great importance to the European Union to be able to carry out an assessment of this year's electoral process - a full return to democracy will enable the European Union to re-establish comprehensive development co-operation with Fiji," Mr Jacobs said.
