VODAFONE Fiji has extended its helping hand to assist people with special needs in the North.

Officiating at the opening of the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North in Labasa on Saturday night, the company's mCommerce and corporate affairs head Shailendra Prasad said they had just recently received some equipment that would be distributed across the board.

"The equipment is worth $1.2million. As part of this shipment, items such as push-type wheelchairs, commodes, crutches, walkers, slings and mattresses, to name a few, have been proposed for the North," he said.

"We are working on getting another shipment soon and this is worth about $2m."
