Macuata eyes U10 title

THE Macuata Kaji rugby team is the top bet to win the under-10 grade in today's final of the Galaxy Kaji Rugby competition.

The side which won the U9 title last year was seeded as the number one side heading into the competition.

They march through and survived challenges from day one. This morning, the side faces a tough battle from Nadi in the semi-final while Suva plays Northland in the second semi-final.

Fiji Kaji rugby president George Seruiratu said Macuata was the top bet because they won the U9 grade last year.

"This team is now playing in the U10 grade," he said.

"They won the U9 last year so the same group of players will be hoping to win again in the U10."

In the U11 grade, a new winner will be crowned after Nadi, the defending champion failed to make the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Suva will feature in all semi-finals. The Capital City side looked to be the dominant force in the competition.

Suva is the reigning champs in the U10, U12, U13 and U14 grades.

Seruiratu anticipates a tough day for all participating teams today.
