Robbery suspect dies in hospital

Update: 11:06AM ONE day after police denied that suspects involved in a money exchange robbery were beaten, confirmation has been received that one has died.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri issued the following statement minutes ago.

"One of the suspects in the Money Exchange robbery in Nadi died at the Lautoka Hospital yesterday evening," he said.

"The Commissioner of Police has tasked a senior officer from his office to investigate the matter."
