AKISI Naivalu of Ratu Nemani Memorial School in Nadroga will use the Fiji Primary Schools Netball Inter-District Championship as a platform to improve her knowledge on the sport.
Being selected in the national under-13 side comes as a huge calling for her and she wants to upskill her knowledge to maintain her best performance for her nation.
For her, the championship is just another opportunity to learn new netball ideas and skills from her colleagues and opponents.
The reserved young netter from Momi Village said representing Fiji in the international field was always part of her dreams.
"Now that I am selected in the under-13 national side, I feel I have shouldered a big responsibility and in order for me to play well, I will have to train more and learn from the other players," she said.
"The championship is a very good opportunity and exposure for me because I get to play against some of the country's fine and best players and also learn from them.
"The tournament is so massive and I am happy to be part of it because I also get to watch other uprising and talented players who also have the potential to wear the national uniform."
Naivalu added her aim in life was to become a professional netball player.
"I just want to become a professional and well-known Fijian netter."
Nadroga Primary Schools Netball team contingent manager Joana Tovilevu said they had come prepared with the aim of taking home the championship titles.
"We have prepared well for this tournament and we are happy that our parents, teachers and supporters have continually supported this trip to Vanua Levu."
