Mr Suva

NETBALL

Nadroga Men's and Mixed

INVITATION to clubs to join the official opening on August 30 at Lawaqa Park at 10am. Registration is $100 that includes Open and Mixed Team. Selection for the National Championship will be held on the same day. Teams from Nadroga/Navosa are welcome to join NMMNA 2014 Season. Rewa Delta

TO all NewWorld Suva Netball players in the Open and U21 Squad for Nationals, please be at training during your sessions:

Open Grade: Mondays and Wednesday from 5.30-7.30pm in Court 3 at the National Netball Centre

U21: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5.30-7.30pm in Court 2 at the National Netball Centre.

Ba Provincial Holdings 7s

THE Ba Provincial Holdings 7s tournament will be held at Nadovu Park in Lautoka on August 22 and 23. Registration fee is $150. Contact Samuela Saubale on 6669534.

CMF Labasa 7s

THE CMF Labasa Rugby 7s tournament will be held from October 16 to 18. Only 40 teams will be accommodated. Entry fee is $200 per team. Prizes: Winner: $5000. Runner-up: $2000. Semi-finalists: $600. Plate Winner: $600. Runner-up: $400. Bowl Winner: $400. Runner-up: $200. Best Player: $100. Furthest travelling team: $100. Closing Date: September 30, 2014. NOTE: There will be a medical and fitness screening on August 19, a day before the trial. The final trial will be held in Suva with the venue to be confirmed by the FSSRU executives. The final 30-member squad will be announced straight after the trial and will march into camp on Friday, August 22 at Laucala Bay Secondary School.

Lokia Youth 7s

THE Lokia Youth 7s tournament will be held at the Lokia ground on August 30. Entry fee is $85 and only 16 teams will be accommodated. The main prize is $500 and runner-up gets $200. Prizes also for plate winners and runner-up. Ten teams will be accommodated for the netball competition. Entry fee is $35 and winner will get $110. Entry fee is due on August 25. Lomaiviti women's

THE Masada Rugby 7s will be held at the Wairiki Village ground in Bua on October 10 and 11.

THE Perfect Aluminum Rewa Delta Uprising 7s tournament will be held in Nausori on August 29 and 30. Winner will receive $1500, runner-up $700. Consolation prizes for losing semi-finalists, plate and bowl category. Only first 32 teams will be accommodated. Registration is $170 and closes on August 22. Saint Thomas 7s

THE Saint Thomas Aquinas 7s tournament will be held at the Montfort Boys Town school ground on August 29-30. The first 32 teams will be accommodated with a registration fee of $150. Cup winner takes $1500, runner-up takes $700, losing semi-finalists gets $500 each. Plate winner wins $300, runner-up $200, bowl winner pockets $150, runner-up takes $100. Vatuwaqa 7s

The Vatuwaqa 7s tournament will be held on August 30 at Saint Marcellin Primary School grounds. Only 48 teams will be accommodated. Registration fee is $50. SQUASH

National Championships

THE Fulton Hogan Hiways National Squash Championships would be held from August 25 to 30 at the Northern Club, Planters Squash Club and Suva simultaneously and the finalists would play in Suva on August 30. Entries close on August 22 and entries can be paid at SportsWorld stores. A national training squad for the 2015 Pacific Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games would be selected from this competition. TABLE TENNIS

THE Fiji Table Tennis Association will host a series of events for the rest of this month:

August: 18-23 Olympic Solidarity funded ITTF Level 1/Para Table Tennis Coaching/OSEP Sports Administration Course. Fully funded, internationally accredited course. FTTA is seeking participants for this course — travel and accommodation subsidised on completion of the course, regional participants welcome, people with disabilities strongly encouraged to attend. Course conductors: National Coach Mohamed Gharib, of Egypt, 3 x Oceania Sport Education Program presenters. Excellent opportunity for sports/community minded people interested in establishing a Table Tennis community in their local area. 25-27th August: National Junior Training Camp

Training Camp will be split into two groups. 28th August: Table Tennis Open Day

Excellent chance to come on down and try your hand at table tennis if new or returning to the sport. Demonstrations, I-Pong robot, fun games, training on offer. 9am-4pm: $2 per person for the whole day.

August 29-31: Rising Star Series Round 2 + 2014 Fiji Schools Team Championships

Rising Star Series is an entry level tournament for school aged participants new to the sport — to gain a taste of a tournament without the pressure of competing against elite players. Fiji Schools Team Championships - Primary and Secondary division, each school can field two teams per event, separate event for boys and girls , the tournament is run on the World Junior Circuit Format consisting of 4 singles and a doubles match. $5 entry fee for Rising Star School Classic. $20 entry fee per team in Fiji schools team championships.
