Delaitokatoka misses key players

DELAITOKATOKA rugby club will be without its star players when it challenges the Natuva Cup in the Naitasiri South rugby zone this morning.

The side will be without inside centre Waisale Levula and Buinimasi Bese who will feature for Naitasiri in the Skipper Cup semi-final against Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori this afternoon.

However, the team remained optimistic it'll upset defending champions Navuso at the Navuso District School ground.

Navuso clinched the title away from Waimanu last week and faces Delaitokatoka in its first defence.

The home side hopes to break the jinx whereby all defending teams failed to retain the cup in its first defence.

Waimanu won the cup from Calia but lost it to Navuso in its first defence.

Calia also encountered the same fate.

Delaitokatoka team official Ponijese Saulekaleka said his side would not be deterred with the absence of Levula and Bese.

"It's not going to be a problem," he said.

"We will fight and give our best shot, we got capable players to replace the two.

"We hope to win this away from Navuso."

The game kicks off at 10am.
