Four schools to submit reports

ONLY four schools have yet to submit their financial audited reports to the Education Ministry in order to qualify for grants.

Education Ministry acting permanent secretary Basundra Kumar said three secondary schools and a primary school were sent reminders to provide their audited financial reports.

"They should submit their audited financial reports with the annual general meeting minutes by the first week of third term to be able to get the grants," she said.

"The audited financial reports tell us where the funds have been used and the ministry is using that report as a monitoring process because the ministry will be accountable for the money used by the schools."

"The ministry wants to know that the money being given to the schools is being put to good use," Mrs Kumar said.

She said the audited financial report endorsed during the AGM was open to the parents and paid members of the organisations.
