EIGHTEEN-year-old Ilin Sarah had never visited the Western Division before her school undertook an educational excursion field trip this week.
The trip allowed the Beqa lass to visit some of the region's major production and heritage sites.
Accompanied by 21 Year 12 students from Beqa Yanuca Secondary School, the group set out on a three-day field trip across Viti Levu on Wednesday.
"It has been a very long trip but it was very educational," she said.
"My favourite places so far have been the Sigatoka sand dunes, Girmit centre, Nadi Meteorological Services and Nadi International Airport."
At the Girmit centre, students were given books depicting the lives of girmitya.
Students were also shown various Indian jewellery and artefacts housed at the centre. Their field trip ends today.
