IN a bid to contest the September 17 General Election as an independent candidate, aspiring politician Roshika Deo submitted 2790 signatures to the Registrar of Political Parties at the Elections Office in Suva yesterday.

The Be The Change Campaign leader said she was certain that she would be registered as an independent candidate ahead of the much awaited election.

Ms Deo said they were only required to get 1000 signatures but they were able to get 1790 more signatures to make up for any invalid signatures that she would get. She said her working group was prepared to begin with their campaign as soon as the result of the registration was confirmed.
