CONSTRUCTION work on the nursing duplex quarters at the Lagi Health Centre in Dogotuki, Macuata is well in progress with 40 per cent of the work carried out so far.

Acting commissioner northern Alipate Bolalevu said the Works Department had been contracted for the project.

"The project started in June and we can say that it's well in progress," Mr Bolalevu said.

"The commissioner northern's office funded the project and it costs $368,177. The physical progress work being implemented so far includes site clearing, laying of sewer lines, construction of rafters, roof, joist and walls to name a few.

"We expect to complete the project soon and people in Lagi and nearby villagers can now be accommodated in a well-structured health facility. Also, the nurses stationed there can be accommodated well in the new quarters."
